Buff Holtman My goal with art is to create color combinations that make my soul sing. Working with a poured background often creates shapes and colors that dictate subject matter. Often I see images that evoke other cultures or outlandish figures. I work to bring these images to the surface with vivid colors.

The process I enjoy is varied. My favorite is pouring paint on to canvas or paper. Photo transferring marries traditional images with abstract designs of poured acrylics and using collage techniques creates unusual texture that adds interest to the composition.

At times I know exactly what I want to do and other times I’m as surprised as anyone what surfaces. But no matter how or what, it’s always fun!
